I must say though that P&amp;P was a little hard to relate to because it was written a long time ago, when women had to wear uncomfortable clothing to try and look pretty and were defined mostly based on their ability to trap a man. Back in those days, being a smart-ass was considered a huge liability for a lady, and also back in those days some otherwise clever ladies, like the main character in this book, demonstrated a weakness for snooty, self-absorbed pricks such as the dashing jerkface Mr. Darcy of this quaint novel.
