that i might actually get to sew along with kcwc next week on elsie marley...
it's thanksgiving weekend here in canada. i always find it so weird that we have a different thanksgiving date than the us. i sometimes forget that they aren't on the same day. so this weekend i'm lucky to have thanksgiving dinner with my parents and omi for the first time in oh......about 12 years maybe??? i'm excited! i've got a new nephew to spoil and lots of food to eat. we're not doing turkey though, we're keeping it easy and going delish with my hubs famous slow cooker ham recipe. so juicy and yummy!!!
i'll also be finishing up some fun sewing for quilt market that will be in the birch fabrics booth again this year! super excited about that. i'm also crossing my fingers i can get my last sleeve done for my kal project (i'm past deadline...oops) and hopefully, hopefully, hopefully join in with kcwc this year! i miss out on it every time! for some reason life just always gets in the way. i've got an insane week next week but i'm hoping to get at least one or two things made for harper next week. if you haven't signed up yet it's not too late! you can find more info on kids clothes week challenge on elsie marley here.
i hope to finally be over this cold, sipping tea, knitting and sewing up a storm and relishing in the company of my family. happy gobble gobble!!! what are your plans this weekend? any fellow canadians out there celebrating thanksgiving? are you planning on joining in for kcwc?
wishing you all a wonderful, yummy, gobbly, tea filled, cozy fall day kinda weekend. see you next week! xoxo

happy thanksgiving!!! we're off camping this weekend.. our last hurrah! and you can bet i'll be bringing a suitcase full of yarn. bahahha. well maybe not that much. i don't have to cook turkey this thanksgiving either. we'll be off to a friend's place on sunday.
ReplyDeletemiss you!! see you next week! xoxo
We are making apple and pumpkin pies on Saturday and then having Turkey on Sunday with my parents and grand-mother. Of course the pies will be for dessert! I love Thanksgiving weekend!! Hope yours is awesome and that you get over your cold! Take care!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving! I think we're gonna need that slow cooker ham recipe! Maybe if you could post it sometime before the US Thanksgiving next month...? ;) Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI thought the unicorn farts was funny so I checked them out on etsy... and wow what a small world, the unicorns are from the town I live in. I knew we have a lot of Moose but I never would of guess there were unicorns too!
ReplyDeleteHave a great Thanksgiving!
Okay - first of all, the Unicorn Farts made me laugh out loud - at work! Second, happy Thanksgiving! I hope you have a wonderful weekend with food and family and fun. Third, definitely need that ham recipe. Fourth, this weekend, is kind of up in the air, but I'm hoping to get a few projects finished myself. Good luck! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving! I like our October Canadian holiday. The harvest just seems so abundant right now and definitely something to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteThis weekend, we are driving over an hour to pick up our turkey, so I will be knitting in the passenger seat. Hurray! Then I'm making pumpkin pies while my mom cooks the bird. And I also plan to finally, finally, sew up some simple sling bags and purses from fabric I have been hoarding for ages!
After a busy month canning loads of tomatoes and other things, I feel like I can finally settle into my new life...my baby started full day kindergarten and now I have a quiet house during the day to accomplish some stuff. I am really hoping my new sewing machine plays a bigger part in my day! Maybe I'll even sew something for the kids next week!
Happy Thanksgiving, fellow Canuck! We have dinner at my parents with siblings and kids and craziness (there are eight adults and eight kids now, so the kids *know* we're nearly outnumbered). Then Sunday, in another town, a thankgiving potluck with friends. I'm doing pumpkin pie and salad for both. Which I should be making right now.
ReplyDeleteI hope to get double-time in on the holiday Monday to make up for my lackluster start to the KCWC. (And I am going to go ahead and make that jacket/blazer you encouraged me to try. Thanks for the kind kick in the pants.)
Thanksgiving sounds lovely right now...family...good food...I'm envious.
ReplyDeleteI know it seems crazy but I've never sewn along with KCWC before...I never know about it until it's already started or already over...but this year I'm going to give it a shot.

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope your cold go away fast too! I've been battling mine for a week and a half...almost better.
ReplyDeleteRemember with KCWC that it's just one hour a day for 7 days...not about results but making the priority to sew. That's what I'm doing this year. I do hope to make a few things but I'm going to be proud if I just sit behind Greta for an hour each day...that is MY goal :) You can do it Shannon!
I have that lip balm and I love it. Smells good and works nice. I'll probably be reodering it when I run out.
ReplyDeletehappy thanksgiving, so wonderful to spend precious time with family! and get well soon!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving and weekend Shannon! I'm feeling very thankful for you, my friend!! Enjoy the yummy eats and Unicorn Farts??? <-- Hilarious!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving!!!
ReplyDeleteI say I'm going to do kcwc this year, but every single time I plan on it something gets in my way and I don't get five minutes to sew let alone an hour a day. Here's hoping! :)
