ahhhhhh yes...it's the weekend! i cannot wait. i'm so excited to watch the opening ceremonies tonight!!!! i love the summer olympics! so exciting!! i can't wait to sit down with a cold bevvie, my knitting and the hubs after a very long week. i also have a soft spot for london. i was lucky enough to go to london & paris on a school trip when i was a teenager and since then have always wanted to go back. i loved it there.
we had a sick wee one here all week. poor little harper had a really bad bout of diarrhea this week (not too be gross). it was a rough one on her and on me and our house. needless to say i spent a fair amount of our day this week cleaning. yuck. she's doing a bit better now today and no longer has a fever. we've stayed pretty close to home all week and have been in survival mode as it was also the hubs first week of very intensive studying for his exam. he has to study full time all summer for a giant 3 day exam in september. to say he is tired is an understatement. he's exhausted. so i'm just trying to keep the house afloat and the kids happy.
i'm also busy trying to madly whip up some lovelies to sell at fibrations next month. there will be some handmade goodies and also my knitting & sewing patterns. i'll be there sharing a table with my pal arika as well as jane and rebecca (nook) will be there with tables as well. so if you live in town or on the island pop on over - it's a gorgeous location! what better place to have a fibre festival than in a beautiful orchard?! here's some pics from last years event.
we're hoping this weekend to have a tiny bit of family time amongst the studying/working and grocery shopping :) we may...just may get a chance to hit up the beach. it's been wayyyyyy too long. i'm looking forward to it and hope it's a relaxing weekend - i could use it :)
wishing you all a ice cream, beach, sunshine, laughs, crafty, family & good friends, olympic excitement kinda weekend!
what's your fave sport of the summer olympics? have you always wanted to go to london? what are your weekend plans? anything fun going on? fill me in on your week.....what have you been crafting? i've got a nice iced coffee here with your name on it <3
p.s. make sure to get your name in for the simpatico (cloud 9 fabrics) fat quarter bundle giveaway from fat quarter shop!!!!! seriously!!! awesome giveaway for this lovely organic fabric line!!!! love!

That dollhouse is brilliant! Such a great way to create an open space to play dolls in. And I adore that quilt.
ReplyDeleteToday I realized that the opening ceremonies were happening when I was grabbing a couple of Pima cotton tees from the gap, and the cashier asked if I was wearing the navy blue USA one tonight. I guess we will be enjoying the Olympics with our Friday wine!
Someday I would love to see London. And all of England. And Ireland! Lol. When I was 18 I was researching work permits for Ireland because I was determined to go there. As soon as I had enough $ for a plane ticket and a work permit I was going to get a passport and leave. Then I met Tim and moved to Washington dc instead. Haha. But that's like halfway to Ireland right?
I know..it's a cool way to do a dollhouse. I loved it when I spotted it.
DeleteI've always wanted to go to Ireland too. When I win the lottery I'll take ya m'dear :)
*pulls up a chair* I have blog stalked you, but have never commented...Somehow I think it's time to change that. :)
ReplyDeleteI went to London in college after studying in Rome for a semester on our way home..because once you're in Europe nothing is really all THAT far apart, right? And then I got to go back and take my Mom when I was in my 20's for work. We had such a good time just wandering around.
*takes sip of coffee* So nice of you to offer that by the way. ;) My fave olympic sport is gymnastics. Probably cause I couldn't ever figure out how to even do a cartwheel as a kid. I played tennis instead.
I've been extra blog stalky (is that a word?) because a week ago wednesday I slipped on some gravel and fractured my elbow. You know how hard it is to sew when your arm is in a splint and a sling?? So instead of moping about I've been looking for extra project ideas. You know, for all those extra minutes having a two year old gives me. ;)
I hope your weekend is fabulous and that you get everything done that you want!
Oh! That quilt!
ReplyDeleteI know..it's gorgeous...luv.
DeleteHi Kathie!

I hope you keep blog stalking but also talking k?
Have a wonderful weekend :)
Happy Weekend!

(if you need me to wind it for you, let me know)
ReplyDeleteSo pleased you want to come back to visit us here in the UK. I can't say I miss London as I often travel to the capital for work. When the kids are a bit older we'll be able to embrace it a bit more and visit the amazing museums, and of course the palace. But, we are LOVING hosting the Olympics! I'm off to see women's hockey in the Olympic park next week and I am sooooo excited!
