to head out on our roadtrip...
that we actually pack just the right amount...
to finish working on my new knitting pattern...
and to get a bit of rest in our friend's awesomely comfy bed :)

keeping this one short and sweet this week. we're hitting the road today for a little mini road trip. we're heading up island to visit with some good friends. i'm hoping we can teach our oldest that road trips really are fun and that you don't need to cry and wail the whole time...lol...but ya never know with her. we're looking forward to it regardless and hoping my back hold out and allows us to do a few fun things while we are gone. the hubs gets to go golfing and this mama gets to spend some time chillaxing, talking with friends, basking in the sun and of course - knitting :) wishing you all a friend filled, giggly, sunshiny, toes in the grass, drinks in your glass and crafts galore kind of weekend.
what are you all up to this weekend? any fun plans? any crafty projects you're excited to whip up this weekend? what's your fave thing about road trips? come keep me company! i'll be bringing the ipad along on the road and hope to get some fun snapshots of our journey. you can follow me on instagram under "luvinthemommyhood".
p.s. don't forget to enter our "Stella Collection" giveaway from tanis fiber arts and knitted bliss! those shawl patterns are not to be missed!

I feel your pain about your back issues. Mine started during my first pregnancy and was really bad for about three years until my physiotherapist started deep muscle stimulation with acupuncture needles (not the same as acupuncture though). That and taking up swimming has made a huge difference. I never though I would be able to run again but I ran a 12Km race in May with no problems!
ReplyDeleteI spent a long time feeling like I was going to spend the rest of my life (and my kid's childhoods!) being hampered by my back. I have to be careful but it is nice to feel positive about the future again.
I hope you find longer term fix for your back soon and that you can enjoy a fun break from it all this weekend. xxx
Enjoy your trip and here is hoping that it is a quiet and pain free drive.
ReplyDeleteNo major plans for us this weekend, just hockey, hockey and more hockey. A typical weekend for me. Though hopefully I'll be able to get through the last few inches of my sweater.
happy weekend!
ReplyDeletehope you can get some real rest!
xo
I really hope you're able to enjoy your weekend without your back being a pain! I know how great it is to have a pain-free weekend!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of road trips, the kidlets and I are heading a few hours south to visit with family after attending a Pampered Chef show/fund raiser. At said show/fund raiser, I'll be giving a friend her going-away gift that I made: a hot/ cold therapy combo pack (a large hot pack and a smaller eye mask (cold pack)) scented in Honeysuckle, which was her choice. I also have to finish tonight a separate eye mask for her that I am making from a special patriotic fabric. Being military spouses, I felt we should have something to help keep us inspired. I can't remember the name or find it anywhere for some reason but, think of it as Magic Mike during the Revolutionary War (only shirtless, so it's still pretty harmless). And considering she's seen the fabric and the movie, I know she'll get a kick out of it!
Oh, your always doing something fun...my poor family gets to finish cleaning out closets this weekend. I think I am the meanest mom in America...

Sounds like a lot of fun! I get to read a lot of Greek I'm behind on. But, I'm cat-sitting, so I get to do it in my professor's super stylish living room. :) It's the small things....
ReplyDeleteHappy trip and knitting!
Hi! Wow, I wish I could go on a road trip, too. It's been a long time since I went somewhere. LOL. To answer your question, what I usually do during weekends is read a book and take some rest because weekdays are always packed with activities and stress. :)
