weekend wishes

that coffee could cure my endo.

short weekend wishes today ladies.  mama's dealing with a bad endo day today (just in case you don't know i suffer from endometriosis for which there is no cure).  i'm getting by but just not in the shape to do a weekend wishes.  i have to admit when i have some bad endo days i'm just not in an "optimistic mood" and because i strive to keep things real in the mommyhood i share the good and the bad days with you all.  today is a bad day so my weekend wishes would prolly be ugly to look at..lol and maybe a tad fake cause i would try to make them look pretty for you all and one thing i'm not is fake.

my house is a disaster.  like seriously a disaster.  i have now resorted to using my one of my kids toys to store my clean laundry in..haha.  i know, i know, but hey...it's clean right?  the carpet is horrible, but the thought of pushing the vacuum when you are in pain and not wanting to move doesn't appeal to me at the moment.  i just hope the baby doesn't eat too much food off of it..lol.  the kitchen floor is just ewww....and my bathroom...well, we'll just leave that one out of it..haha.  i'm sure there are some of you out there who can relate right?

thing is i love a clean house.  i like my crafting area to be organized and tidy.  i think, work and create much better in a spick/span environment but every time i get it all cleaned up an hour goes by and i'm back at square one again :P  aiayayaya.  such is life right?  harper's cutting a whack of molars and her nose is a human faucet so she's cranky and not sleeping good and for some reason because she isn't mackenzie has decided she "is lonely" in her room and coming into ours every hour or two.  needless to say i'm about done with that.  i'll be nipping that in the bud this weekend.  kid is tricky.  i have to outwit her constantly.

today she was eating a snack that came in a little bag and she knows she's only allowed one so instead of getting one she got 2 (without me knowing) opened 1 and dumped it into the other bag so it looked like she only had 1 snack.  who does that at 4??? seriously??  she even hid the evidence and tried to deny it.  said it came like that..hahahaha.  oh man, kids.  i only wish it didn't hurt to laugh right now.

so this weekend i've got knit night tomorrow (to finish my KAL hopefully) and our modern sewing group at the fab "satin moon" on sunday! i'm so excited for that.  it's keeping me motivated right now so i can get a good chunk of my quilt done when i'm there.  i'm aiming to get all the quilting for the top done on sunday.  3 hours of kid free sewing bliss for mama.  yes please :)

i'm wishing you all a restful, happy, healthy and fun weekend!  what are you up to?  sounds like you have all been busy bees crafting on the FB page!  i love chatting with you all on there - so fun!  what things are you doing "for yourself" this weekend?  let's chat girls!

  3. I don't have the endo but I get migraines so I can relate to that not having it in your to clean feeling. Or do much of anything. Just take it easy until you're ready to get back into the swing!

  4. Awww Shannon I'm uber sorry you're doing poorly. I can relate to the candy with your girl...my Vinny has been sneaking treats for years ... sadly he is getting better at it & days will go by before I discover his guilt. He'll be 5 in October!

About the sleep do the girls share a room? My Samuel #2 sleeps best with his brothers...once we discovered that he needed others to sleep it made life so much better...perhaps your girls are the same way.

I'm hoping to finish up my stack of MODify dresses this weekend.

  5. Hope you feel better soon! I am such a wimp when it comes to lady things that if I had endometriosis I would probably just die. Thanks for keeping it real and giving us an honest peek into your messy house. It makes me feel a tad better about the disaster in mine! We are dealing with a lot of relational turmoil with various friends in our life and I have been either too busy or too sad to deal with much this week. Here's to a better weekend and even better next week!

  6. My deal is menstrual migraines that put me in the bed for days at a time. And I wake to a hurricane of messiness in the house. I love a clean house too, but your health and sanity are much more important. Take yourself off the hook, cleaning can wait.

Also- when I was a kid my mom had some "reward" candy that would sit up on the kitchen window sill. I'd wake myself up in the middle of the night, get up and steal some! And I'd sneak sugar cubes and hide them under my sisters mattress. I turned out ok, no worries!

  7. I love a clean house too! right now I'm trying to get our house clean for our city friends to arrive this afternoon for our housewarming, plus make salads. And yesterday I had to call the hubs home from work in tears because our 11 mo wouldn't let me vacuum and the vacuum wasn't sucking right and I got so frustrated I smashed the end of the vacuum. I would never shake my baby, but smashing the vacuum was all I could do not to scream right back at him. Not my best moment.
If I get the toilet cleaned and the salads made I'll be happy.
And as I've been writing this, little C just totally spew burbed into his mouth and swallowed it, right in my face, I don't get grossed out easy, but ewww! I can still smell it!
    Hope the endo clears off!

  10. Hang in there and hope you feel better soon!! I worked so hard this week and got my house all tidy for some friends to come over Fri AM. By Fri nite, I was all messy again....toys everywhere, dishes piled in the sink. Well, at least my room stayed clean since I didn't allow any munchkins in there....haha! I too love a clean house, but am not disciplined enough to keep it spotless on a regular basis :) Hope your weekend is great!

  11. Sorry you've been low with endo. I was that way last week, so I know exactly what you mean! I had a laparoscopy done when I was TTC with my now 25 month old and it seemed to really help but now 11 months after the baby was born, the pain is back and worse then ever. My DH just read recently that acupuncture is supposed to help. I am seriously considering it!!

  12. Oh, Shannon, I just read this now. Wowzers. So sorry to hear it and hope that you are feeling a wee bit better now. BTW, if my 4-year-old thought of it, he would totally do that trick. Just proves that yours is a smarty pants ;)

  13. @Prairiegirl - I hope you feel better soon. I've had more than a few surgeries and none have helped that much. Here's hoping the acupuncture helps you. The only relief I have found has been through my naturopathic physician in helping to balance my horomone levels and cycle. Thinking of you.

  14. i am 23 years old, and finally have been working with doctors (after 9 years of being told to "relax") to hopefully get rid of my endometriosis or stop the pain without anymore painkillers, that honestly don't work anyway except to make you numb enough to deal with it. i'm so glad i googled bad day for endometriosis, because your page popped up and that coffee picture definitely put a smile on my face. so thank you! misery really does love company, doesn't it? ;-)
