moments in the mommyhood - goofiness all around
here's to long weekends both in the US and in Canada and to lots of laughs, bubbles, sunshine, fun, yummy coffee, crafty goodness, wonderful friends & family. wishing you all a wonderful long weekend. i'm not sure if i will pop in tomorrow as it's Canada day here in my neck of the woods and it's also a holiday on monday for our fellow neighbours in the US so i may just be a naughty girl and take friday and monday off!!!! oh my!!! a 4 day weekend? wowsa! i feel so daring..lol. i plan on getting on that darn sewing machine if it kills me and also to get some progress made on my summer sweater knit along project. i ran into a little hoopla with too many increases in one part..must have made an oopsie even though i was being super meticulous but thanks to a good pal i managed to fix my ways and can now start going again.
alrighty, back to the dirty diapers, my 4 loads of never ending laundry, icky kitchen floor, full dishwasher, crabby/grumpy toddler, crumb covered carpet and the many other duties us mom's have. ahhhh the joys of motherhood, i'm sure you can all relate :)
what are you all up to for the long weekend? any special projects you finished for canada day or for the 4th of july? whatever it is you are doing i hope you all enjoy yourself and have lots and lots of fun! chat with you all next week....or maybe sooner cause i'll prolly miss all of you.
*p.s. no babies were injured in the making of this post. daddies were there to catch them :P

Happy Canada Day - we are going to my sister's for her annual pancake breakfast tomorrow morning, then will be checking out the local events in the park.... Our red and white tshirts are washed and ready to go!
ReplyDeleteOh my, I had completely forgotten (or my brain shielded itself from traumatic memory of) the overwhelming aroma that comes with dirty diapers in babies that are starting to get serious about solid food. It's a room-clearer, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteI'm finishing up some dresses for the girls for tomorrow, just completely by happenstance wound up with a pretty fabric with canada flags in it! I didn't even notice until I was ironing them out of the wash yesterday. Then there was no way they couldn't become a sister set for the girls.
Here, I found it online here http://pastimepieces.blogspot.com/2010/04/canadian-cottage-by-rjr-fabrics.html and i have some stuff from the same collection that's just pinks and no flags. I bought it at fabricland's buy-one-get-one-free event so in the end I paid $5 for a meter of each, this and the contrast! ha!
these are such wonderful pictures! love them. thanks for putting that smile on my face ;) xo
ReplyDeleteYippee for a four day weekend! Love the pics! And yes us Momma's have a lot of work but totally worth it for the kisses, hugs and dandelion bouquets! Um, my plans haven't changed...I have to finish those curtains!!! Then if I get them done I will spend some quality time with my KAL! If everything goes better than I plan I should have the front of my sweater finished, curtains finished and up along with the 3 other mini blinds I just bought so that next week I can start it with well rested children.
ReplyDeleteYou can stop laughing now :) I know I'm ambitious but it is better than being a pessimist ;) Happy Weekend for you!
we started the weekend early with some strawberry picking and some good farming fun! Canada festivites tomorrow at the local park and if grandma comes over Saturday... i'm gonna fake sick and curl up with my KAL replacement (still waiting for my yarn - darn Canada post) and sunday the hubs owes me for a golfing weekend so the kids will be all his....
ReplyDeleteoh excuse me i think i dozed off and was dreaming ;)

Since we have both Canadians and Americans in our family we're celebrating both holidays. We're pretty low-key about Canada Day but I love to do a little something. Happy long weekend!
