hi folks! it's weekend wishes time! did you miss it? i did! i always look forward to friday's post because i have so much fun putting it together and hearing all your comments. i'm hoping it's just like getting back on a bike for me when it comes to my old blogging routine. it's been a few months and having guest posts is definitely not the same as blogging full time myself - so bear with me.

we've got a long weekend here in sunny ol' british columbia (canada) and i managed to bat my eyelashes at the hubs enough to get him to take a day off so we get 4 days off together! holy moly! talk about a miracle! i cannot wait. this week has felt super long, not sure why, but it's dragged. i'm looking forward to some actual family time - not errand running time.

having 2 kids instead of one sure makes it a lot tougher for me to get out during the week to get grocery shopping and errands done, so we have been saving them for the weekends lately and it sure sucks...bah. our weekends have turned into chores and groceries. not fun. this weekend we plan on bbq'ing with friends, relaxing, sunbathing, the hubs is doing some golfing and i'll be playing with and trying to figure out the new laptop. i cannot wait. bring on the leisurely breakfasts, sleeping in, relaxing....oh wait, who am i kidding here...i've got kids & a husband! ok, bring on the 5:00am wake up, dirty diapers, breastfeeding, toddler antics, laundry doing, dishes, dusting, baby snuggles, laughter, dress up & storytime and all around how wonderful is this time :)

i, of course, also plan to relish in the newest season of mad men and project runway. i'm saving them to enjoy on the weekend when i have help with the littlies and am not blogging or sewing at night. oh, and don't worry, i'm still working on that tutorial, it's just gonna take me a while. hopefully i'll get sometime to work on it. because of the long weekend there prolly won't be a post on here till tues or wed. i'm taking a much needed day off too :) hope you all have a happy weekend!

what are your weekend wishes? any of you die hard PR fans too (i've been watching project runway australia to fill the void)? any fellow b.c. folks doing anything special for the long weekend? come chat!

  1. Our weekends are exactly the same way! This weekend Tom has to work and I get to paint. Then he gets to put up shelves while I go grocery shopping. I took the boys grocery shopping with me last weekend and I will not be doing that again soon. Luke shoplifted candy and left his shoes in the cart! Oops.

  2. Oh no Jenny...that sounds stressful but also funny :) I agree, it's easier to leave them at home. I tried going with both girls and the shopping was fine, it was the loading and unloading. We live in a condo and I couldn't figure out how to get all the groceries up to our apartment while carrying the baby, my purse, etc...I ended up wearing the baby, putting the groceries in our stroller and getting the toddler to hold the doors and elevators open...ahaha. It was a nightmare and I still had to leave some of the bags in the car for when the hubs got home. I won't be doing that again anytime soon...or I need to buy an old lady grocery cart :P

I plan on relaxing by the pool (baby pool) at my parents (we live in a tiny apt) and maybe bbq'n on Saturday night and then to top it off a girls night with my sister and momma for the Bachelorette finale! Enjoy the beautiful long weekend!!

  5. I promise shopping with the kiddos will get easier as will the loading and unloading. Today I took all my kiddos to the park and then the store and we had a fabulous time...it was just what we needed.

Enjoy your weekend with the hubs and your darling babies :)

  6. What??! There's PR Australia?? oh right, it must be on paytv which we dont have...lucky though as I probably would be addicted!
I have a 2yr old and 5month old and grocery shopping was just too much so I've looked into online grocery shopping and been using it for about 6 weeks now. AWESOME! Saves me time, stress, brings the groceries to my door. Makes me use up what I have in the house if I run out before the next delivery (i do it every 2 weeks) and plan some of my meals in advance. Also helps sticking to a budget and no impulse buys in the store! If you have home delivery in your area, look into it. Might pay a bit extra but for your time, sanity and effort, worth it while your kids are little... you can spend your time doing something you enjoy with them instead.
    Have a great weekend!

  8. Great post!!! I'm hanging out for a snuggle with my husband too, 1 that lasts longer that 30 seconds would really be good... It feels like with the farm, my new shop and our cattle truck, (not to mention my 2 beutiful girls as well), we just never get the time to just sit down together and chill out... Enjoy your 4 days off with your family...

    Hugs - Jodie :)
