mommyhood moments - we've been busy cooking

some folks have been asking for pregger belly shots lately, so here ya go! i've been busy cooking up another member of the cook family. i'm now almost 16 weeks and looking pretty darn huge already if you ask me. i'm hoping that i'm not the only one on baby #2 who notices just how much faster that darn belly seems to be baking the wee one. people keep asking me if i'm having twins - eek!!!!

i don't have too many pics of the belly yet. i have to admit we have been quite forgetful and lazy in the belly shot department this time around. i really do have to get on the ball and start recording this pregnancy as i am not having any more after this baby. yep, that's right, i don't think i can handle three.....i'm hoping i can handle the two i'm going to have running around. life is going to get pretty crazy in our little apartment that's for sure!

any of you out there have any great ideas on how to stay on track with the belly photo shots? how did you find your belly growing after your first pregnancy?

  1. well as you know, we made Sunday our belly shot day. Our family became used to the idea since we posted the pics on our blog. So if we forgot to post on Sunday they'd be on our case to get one done. Its fun to look back on now.

  2. WoW!Only 16 weeks? Your belly is very big! And beautiful. I see that and It makes me sad that I wont look like that again.I loved being pregnant.And dont feel bad, I was terible at taking belly photos, with all 3.I hope you are feeling better:)

  3. Love the shots! I'm new to your blog, and have enjoyed it so far.

    I have 3 little ones. Our youngest is 11months and our oldest is 4. I was completely showing at 2 1/2 months with both my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies and was fully in maternity clothes by 12-13 weeks. People asked me all the time if I was having twins, but thankfully that was never the case.

    Try 1st saturdays or sundays for your belly shots. That way each month, there will be a consiserable change.

  4. I LOVE your belly, and it makes me reminisce about being preggers many year ago and sad that I will never have that belly again...I love being pregnant...women are SO lucky! :)

  5. Your lovely stomach muscles are never the same after having kids, so with each new baby you show faster and faster. Actually it's not too bad, because you kind of skip the whole "fat" stage where people are thinking, "is she pregnant or just putting on the pounds?" I was never good at the belly shot thing, maybe I'll try with this one since this is definitely the last! Don't you think 5 is enough?! :) I did take some beautiful pregnancy pictures when I was about 8 months along with my last one. I felt really pretty last time around, so I was up for it.   6. Thanks for all the kind words ladies! You made my day! I'm glad I'm not the only one who's belly feels like it's bigger than normal.
    The belly shot tips are going to come in handy. I am thinking along the once a month line.
    I would love to get some professional shots done this time around, but our budget usually doesn't allow for it. I need to find a photographer friend...hahah.

  8. You look GREAT! Monday will be 30 weeks into my second pregnancy, and yes I think you do get bigger faster... your body says- been there, done that :) and it knows exactly what to do. I am getting comments from strangers like- wow you are SO big and is your baby due next week? I mean really, do they not realize that's not so nice??? And believe me, I know how big I am, I have a mirror at home and I can see my belly instead of my feet. Everytime the doc measures my belly I am exactly where I should be so I'm not sure what the deal it.
    I didn't do belly shots last time except for twice or something, not sure why. I try to do them every other Monday. I have been slacking lately. I would suggest hitting the big points, like 6, 7 and 8 months, etc... Good Luck!!!

  9. According to my OB, it's because everything is loose and it falls forward. I swear with my second I was showing at 6 weeks! If we have anymore, I will probably start showing at conception!

Jessica - yep, i am planning on finding out the sex, we are hoping for a boy but are happy with another girl. we couldn't find out what mackenzie was due to her legs being crossed so i am hoping we can get a peek this time round! i will keep you posted and thanks for the sweet gift gesture - you rock and i would treasure and covet anything you made!

    wilson window - isn't that the truth! i hate it when strangers say stuff like that - it's rude! it's as if they think we don't know what the hell we look like everyday...haha. so true!

    mama b - that makes so much sense. i swear my belly popped at around the 6 week point, it was nuts!

  12. Nope, you're not the only one with a big belly! I'm now 13 weeks and I look like I'm as big as you are. I don't have any pictures posted yet, we haven't told the inlaws (we're waiting to see them in person this week). This is my second child, but my first one was born 15 years ago! I just started very early with her:) Good luck with everything!
